A. Conditions for Student Visa Application

  1. The student must first pay for at least six months of classes (minimum 10 hours/week) in advance.
  2. The student must comply with all the laws of the Peoples Republic of China as well as rules and guidelines of TLI.
  3. The student must first pay a 50 USD visa fee before the school can process your student visa invitation letter.

B. Visa Requisition Procedure

  1. The student must begin by depositing 150 USD into TLI Taipei bank account (100 USD for tuition deposit and 50 USD for visa application fees)
  2. After receiving the JW202 Letter of Invitation They then must go to have a health examination and after three working days may pick up their health exam results.
  3. The student then must bring the JW202 form, health exam results, a passport sized photo and temporary resident permit to the TLI office to get the final visa application request form. At this time the student must pay for six months of tuition as stated above in the student visa requirements.
  4. Finally the student will take all of the items mentioned above with their passport to the Public Security Bureau to apply for their student visa. They may pick up their passport and new visa after five working days.

Materials Needed:

  1. Passport, current visa and 2 passport style photos with a blue background.
  2. Visa Application from TLI and JW202 Letter of Invitation
  3. Beijing Health Bureau’s certificate of wellness
  4. Temporary Resident Permit
  5. Official visa request form from TLI with school seal.

Note:

  1. Once you have received your JW202 form and your official TLI admission notice, please come to TLI as soon as possible to go through the visa application process.
  2. After obtaining your new visa, you must go to get a new Temporary Resident Permit to match your new visa.
  3. A passport size photo is a 2 inch photo with a blue background. Please have a total of 8 photos made.

Tourist Visa and Commercial Visa Extensions

Once you obtain a tourist or business visa, you may postpone your arrival for up to one year. (if your visa has an entry date of May 12, 2009 you may enter at any time up to May 11, 2010). If you must postpone your trip longer, it will require you to reapply for a new visa. If you want to extend your current tourist or business visa, the following things will be required: 1) Your original Passport with current visa. 2) Current Temporary Resident Permit 3) Two passport sized photo’s with a blue background. 4) RMB cash to pay for the new visa.
